چکیده

Objective: An irreversible process begins when a systemic infection causes sepsis. Therefore, rapid identification of the agent bacteria in sepsis and its antibiotic resistance is crucially important. In this study, it was aimed to investigate efficiency genotype test.
Methods: Blood culture bottles sent laboratory were examined with an automatic blood system (BACTEC, BD, USA). Growing identificated by VİTEK (bioMérieux, France) automated / susceptibility system. addition, bacterial species mecA, vanA, vanB, vanC1, vanC2 C3 genes cultures Gram positive growth also determined "Genotype® BC Gram-positive (Hain Lifesience, Germany)" Results: 72 patients gram-positive two or more included study. 44 samples (61%) same detected conventional method (bacteria culture) test. 28 (39%) differences between results methods regarding name vancomycin/methicillin rate. Although single isolated all samples, multiple agents eight Also, found that mecA ciprofloxacin higher than negative ones.
Conclusion: observed test could correctly identify their within 4-5 hours.

serum procalcitonin levels distinguish gram-negative bacterial sepsis from gram-positive bacterial and fungal sepsis

background: serum procalcitonin (pct) levels differ in patients with bacterial or fungal infections and are significantly elevated in patients with gram-negative bacteremia. we evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of different inflammatory markers to discriminate sepsis caused by different pathogens. materials and methods: we included 328 episodes of bacteremia from 292 patients with sepsis and 31...

Gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial toxins in sepsis

Bacterial sepsis is a major cause of fatality worldwide. Sepsis is a multi-step process that involves an uncontrolled inflammatory response by the host cells that may result in multi organ failure and death. Both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria play a major role in causing sepsis. These bacteria produce a range of virulence factors that enable them to escape the immune defenses and dis...

Identification of key genes in Gram-positive and Gram-negative sepsis using stochastic perturbation

Sepsis is an inflammatory response to pathogens (such as Gram‑positive and Gram‑negative bacteria), which has high morbidity and mortality in critically ill patients. The present study aimed to identify the key genes in Gram‑positive and Gram‑negative sepsis. GSE6535 was downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus, containing 17 control samples, 18 Gram‑positive samples and 25 Gram‑negative samples...
